Christmas Paper Cut Diorama

Tis the season to be jolly, falalala lalalalala! It is the time of giving once again, and if you are feeling a little crafty this year, why not gift your loved ones something more magical instead of the usual Christmas cards! Here is a Christmas Paper Cut Diorama that will leave your recipients in awe.

You will need:

  1. LED light strip
  2. Card stock
  3. Ruler
  4. Pencil
  5. Scissors
  6. Precision knife for craft work
  7. Foam core board
  8. Glue
  9. 10cm by 10cm photo frame (that has some depth)

Step 1

Measure your photo frame and print these templates according to size. You could either save the templates below or design your own. You can cut out an additional piece for the last layer and poke holes for a starry effect.

Be sure to print the actual size of these templates on A3 paper!

Step 2

Place the templates to the back of your card stock and shine a light through the bottom as a light box and trace it out using a pencil.

Step 3

Cut them out along your pencil lines and lay them out according to their layers.

Step 4

You could try placing them together first to get a preview of how it will look like.

Step 5

Cut your foam board into strips to fit the sides of your ready card stock and stick them according to their layers to create depth.

Carefully push all your images into your frame until they touch the glass and stick a LED Light strip to the back of your card stock.

Make a hole through the backing for the power cord and you are done!

Be creative this festive season and spread the love!
