Homemade Guacamole


Ripe avocados are key to preparing delicious guacamole

Potluck gatherings are an easy and fuss-free way of gathering people together. If you are due to contribute a dish for an office party or a friend’s house warming, why not try whipping up homemade guacamole? Homemade food is gold when it comes to impressing your peers.

To prepare guacamole, you will need a blender and the following ingredients:

3 avocados
1 packet of cherry tomatoes (250g) 
1 bunch of coriander leaves
3 basil leaves
½ onion 
3 cloves garlic
1 lime 
½ slice of lemon
A pinch of paprika 
1 teaspoon cumin powder
½ teaspoon of sea salt
Olive oil 
Black pepper


Step 1:

Dicing and slicing. Prior to preparing the guacamole, you would need to have the ingredients such as the avocados peeled and diced properly. Do standby the lime and lemon juices as well!


Step 2:

Grind the diced avocado together with lime juice and half a teaspoon of sea salt into mash. The lime helps with discolouring, while the salt enhances the flavour.


Step 3:

Add the mashed avocado together with a mixture of diced cherry tomatoes and finely chopped onion, basil, garlic and coriander into a container. Stir the ingredients well.


Step 4:

While stirring, add lemon juice, olive oil, a tea spoon of cumin powder and sprinkle paprika and black pepper to the mix.

For the final step, do adjust and tweak the flavouring according to your taste buds. Once done, all you need are tortilla chips and you are all set for your potluck party!
